After picking you up from your hotel, we will head to Phnom Penh Central Market, also known as Psar Thmey, meaning New Market, which is one of the main attractions of the Cambodian capital. Whether you are a shopping enthusiast looking to test your haggling skills, a tourist looking to be part of the bustling crowd, or simply want to explore the city’s amazing architectural wonders, our driver will take you to Wat Phnom for your second stop, where you can explore the city on your own. This is a 14th-century Buddhist temple that stands at 27 meters tall, making it the tallest religious building in the area. This temple has a long history, offering visitors an insight into the culture and religion of Cambodia. The complex consists of several ornate buildings, including a large stupa in the centre. Next, we will visit the Independence Monument in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, which was built in 1958 to commemorate Cambodia’s independence from France in 1953. It stands at the intersection of Norodom Boulevard and Sihanouk Boulevard in the city centre. Afterwards, we will take a boat cruise along the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers. Relax and enjoy the sunset with complimentary drinks (beer and soft drinks) and canapes before heading back to your hotel. You can expect to be back in Phnom Penh around 7pm.

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21). This site is of great historical significance as it was originally a respected high school that was later converted into a heavily guarded prison during the Pol Pot regime. Today, it functions as a museum, serving as a poignant reminder of the dark and troubling days of the past. We will then head to the Killing Fields of the Choeung Ek Genocide Centre. This infamous site has a torturous past. Once an idyllic orchard and Chinese cemetery, it was tragically transformed by the Khmer Rouge led by Pol Pot into what became infamous as the Killing Fields. Around 20,000 people were executed here, and an astounding 2.5 million were mercilessly killed and buried over a period of three years. This site stands as a stark testimony to the atrocities committed during that dark chapter of history. You will arrive back in Phnom Penh around 12:00 PM.
