In the morning, meet at the hotel lobby and transfer to visit: The wonderful Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Centre is home to gibbons, sun bears, elephants, tigers, lions, deer, huge pythons and a huge aviary. There are already over 20,000 Buddha statues – out of a planned 84,000! Only 2,000 gilded Buddhas line the 199 steps to the 10-metre tall statue that towers over the statue below in the Puth Kiri Pagoda, while thousands of other Buddhas meditate. Ta Prohm Temple in Tonle Bati was also a sanctuary for Hindu deities. This place has been a Hindu place of worship since the sixth century, in the pre-Angkorian period of Phnom Da, which belonged to the maritime “empire” called Funan. After exploring all the amazing places, transfer back to the hotel.
