Our tuk-tuk driver and guide will pick you up from your hotel to begin the day’s adventure. Your first foodie stop is a small local eatery serving Cambodian noodles with traditional soup or chicken curry soup. Paired with a refreshing iced tea or fresh sugarcane juice, this breakfast stop will set the tone for the day. Dive into the bustling morning Phnom Penh Central Market (Phsar Thmey), filled with fresh produce, meat, seafood, spices and street vendors. Your guide will tell stories about local culinary traditions while you sample delicacies such as Cambodian sweets and fruits you may not have seen before. At the same time, our guide invites you to try Cambodian grilled lemongrass beef skewers with baguette and other local fruits sold at this market. After exploring the market, stop at a hidden, cozy cafe for an authentic Cambodian coffee or iced tea. Watch the locals relax and enjoy their daily dose of caffeine. Then we visit a local restaurant serving Banh Chaev, a pancake carefully made with a unique blend of rice milk and turmeric. Get ready to enjoy the unique taste of local cuisine at its best. Finish the tour with a visit to a stall specializing in Khmer desserts made from coconut, sticky rice, and palm sugar. You should arrive at your accommodation by 12:30 am.
